A concept design for a townhouse project on the waterfront in Lindisfarne.
The proposal includes replacing an existing brick two story building with two townhouses, positioned to make the most of panoramic views across Lindisfarne Bay.
The gently sloping site allows for parking underneath, with all the living and bedrooms on a single level, addressing the sun and view.
The mirrored plans allow for bedrooms to be accessed from a accessed from a central hallway, with courtyards along the side boundaries serviced by sliding timber screens to create privacy. A generous central courtyard, accessible from the kitchen, divides the living areas and bedrooms, and allows for early morning and late afternoon solar access into the kitchen and living areas.
The minimal material palette revolves around timber and masonry textures, creating a warmth and scale that forms a subtle backdrop, ready for the clients collection of furniture and art.
